Laboratory technician
Back in 1986 I obtained the Diploma from the School for Technicians of Medical-Biological Institutes at the University of Milan. In the same year I was hired as a technician at the Institute of Medical Microbiology, now the Department of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Sciences, of the same University.
My work experience begins with Microbiology techniques (antibiotic sensitivity tests, protein isolation, spectrophotometric techniques, enzymatic activity), moves on to Molecular Biology Techniques (isolation of nucleic acids (DNA/RNA), PCR, subtyping by REA, RAPD, PFGE, RFLP, molecular cloning, bacterial transformation) and now continues with Cellular Biology (maintenance and culture of mammalian cell lines).
I love spending my free time reading books or embroidering, unless I am busy with some organized trip with my husband.
