I obtained my PhD in Molecular Parasitology at the University of León in Spain. Since then I have been working with different protozoa. During my PhD I developed the first fluorescent Leishmania strain used to monitor the disease in vivo and to find new drugs. During my PostDoc at the Pasteur Institute in Paris I identified a unique marker for Trypanosoma brucei to predict the fate of the parasite during its in vivo cycle. In the ParVirLab in Milan I work on the immune response to Plasmodium falciparum gametocytes. It is quite obvious that I love these fascinating parasites!
Outside the lab I like reading, spinning, going to live music concerts and traveling.
